What to Expect: Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
For patients who are eligible for the IOP and returning to the Center for Brain Health for treatment, a care manager will contact the patient to schedule and coordinate their three-week stay in New Orleans.
During the three-week IOP, patients work with the same team of caregivers who guided the initial evaluation and follow a schedule of treatment therapies based on their individualized care plan. Patients will interact with nurses, case managers, social workers, family therapists, integrative therapists, and other caregivers throughout the program.
Family members are welcome to join patients during the last week of their stay to participate in programs and to learn skills that can help loved ones navigate life at home and in their community.
Our care model centers on personalized assessments and treatments, and a patient’s care plan is based on their individual health goals and needs. We offer many different approaches to treat patients with TBI and provide the tools to help their healing and recovery process. Veterans may or may not experience all of the treatments and evaluations listed here.
